The Children’s Village Early Learning Center, Inc. believes
that all children are entitled to a high quality early childhood
program which provides a safe and nurturing environment. This
environment promotes the Physical, Social, Emotional and Cognitive
development of young children while responding to the needs of
families. Our full-day kindergarten program is based upon the
guidelines set forth by the Rhode
Island Early Learning Standards,
the Rhode Island Department of Education, and the Exeter/West
Greenwich School System. The subject areas encompassed in the program
are Math, English (Language Arts), Science and Social Studies.
Therefore, the foundation of our full-day kindergarten program is
seated in the concept of “developmental appropriateness”.
Our developmentally appropriate program reflects what is known about
children's learning and provides experiences which will contribute to
the overall development of the children entrusted to our care.
Our full-day kindergarten program is language based with an emphasis
on hands-on learning experiences. The environment fosters the love of
listening, speaking, reading and writing through activities that are
based on themes. These themes are integrated throughout the
curriculum in the areas of Approaches to Learning, Social and
Emotional Development, Language Development and Communication,
Literacy, Mathematics, Science, Creativity, and Physical Health and
Development. Our goal is to make each child a lifelong learner with
the up-to-date current knowledge enabling him/her to be a
contributing member of our society.
