Infant Care (6 weeks through 18 months)
Our trained, caring staff make every day special for the infants in our care. We welcome infants individually as they arrive and let them play together. While some infants need to be fed and nap we give others time to play so that play, nap, and feeding time are all closely supervised. Our staff-to-infant ratio of 1:4 ensures that each infant gets close attention at all times.
As with all of our programs, our approach is guided by the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards for cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development. We interact with infants using floor toys, mirrors, books and baby gyms. Activities also encourage tummy time, stretching and exploring. We feed and let younger babies nap throughout the day according to their individual schedules. Our cozy and quiet sleeping area has soft, soothing music playing. In addition to indoor play facilities, we have a smaller outside area for babies to play when the weather is nice. We often take walks in our Bye Bye Buggy or strollers, giving babies opportunities to experience the outdoors and explore nature. |
